Elect Harry Welty to State Senate

A few quick (soon to be edited) reasons why. (Harry has lots to do and has gotten a little rusty figuring out how to work on his web pages plus he is using new and unfamiliar software)

1. Unlike his challenger Harry Welty has fought for three years to restore the voting rights to Duluth voters.

2. Had Harry's stand been adopted by his opponent the current turmoil in the Duluth Schools would have been averted.

3. Harry's challenger said that his top priority was settling Minnesota's unprecedented fiscal mess. His challenger who has been in the House of Representatives thinks the state has handled things pretty well. If a seven billion problem is not your idea of pretty good vote for Harry.

All proceeds going to Vote Like it Counts will be spent in the fight to regain the right to vote on major school building referendums for the citizens of the Duluth School District. A $437 million construction plan without a public referendum is unprecedented.

The spending priorities will be:

	The election of a new majority to the Duluth School Board.
	Continuing challenges  legal and otherwise to the imposition of the Red Plan.
	Reimbursing donors who risked donations for the $100,000 surety bond in the continuing lawsuit Welty et al vs. ISD 709 & Johnson Controls.
	Helping the non political Let Duluth Vote which has led the opposition to the Red Plan for two years.

Just how much will be required for all of these priorities will depend on how much of a $100,000 surety bond is reclaimed by the plaintiffs who case is still in the Minnesota Courts. The contributors to the Bond were told that Let Duluth Vote and others would attempt to raise enough to return most of their donation to the bond should the Court award it to the defendants in Welty et al.

The charge for the book is $20.00 and Vote Like it Counts, which is organized as a sole proprietorship by Harry Welty, will pay sales taxes on the first $20 contributed to the cause for each book ordered.  For business purposes the first $20 will be treated as business transaction.  Any amount over this will be treated as a donation to Vote like it Counts and will not result in sales taxes. 

The book will be published in 2010 and mailed out at no additional charge.
